Asics wants to see you on the court – and in the stands for the U.S. Open, which begins Monday – by giving away free gear this weekend.
The sneaker and sportswear company is holding several events this weekend where tennis enthusiasts can score shoes and apparel.
On Saturday, Asics will be at the Central Park tennis courts between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., surprising players during matches and those waiting to use the courts with tennis shirts, socks, visors and other gear.
And on Sunday, come to the Asics store in the Meatpacking District (420 W. 14th St.) from 9 a.m. to noon. Be among the first 200 shoppers to exchange your used tennis-specific shoes – regardless of what brand or style – for a free pair of new Asics GEL-Solution Slam 2 sneakers.
To kick off the U.S. Open tournament on Monday, Asics representatives will be riding the 7 train to the stadium in Flushing, Queens, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to give out 1,000 MetroCards for free rides to and from the tournament.
