The U.S. Open is in full swing at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows. Tournaments wrap up on Monday, but it’s not too late to get in on the action.
No Tickets?
You probably didn’t feel like sitting through endless deuces anyway. Watch the Open at your leisure from a high-end sports bar instead. The Windsor (234 W. Fourth St. or 420 Park Avenue South) will be airing the matches through the end of the tournament. They’re serving up a daily special of a complimentary drink with each entrée.
Have Tickets?
If you have a ticket, put it to use beyond the stadium. Present a U.S. Open ticket at Épicerie Boulud (1900 Broadway) for a free tennis ball macaron. Flavors include lemon with a lemon marshmallow filling and raspberry with a fresh raspberry filling. Advantage: spectator.
Want Tickets?
Heineken has created an interactive photo hunt on Instagram to help one lucky winner score two tickets to the men’s final on Monday. Visit the Instagram handle @Crack_the_US_Open, flip your phone 90° and set it to grid view. You’ll see a giant panoramic view of the stadium, and can search for clues and codewords in the captions. A series of clues form a riddle. Follow the clues, find the last photo, and enter the correct codeword in the comments.
For another Heineken-related deal, head to new gastropub Malt n Mash (53-61 Gansevoort St., 888- 883-6054). As Malt n Mash debuts Heineken Extra Cold on draught, they are giving away one pair of U.S. Open tickets each day. One couple will also have the chance to win a chauffeured trip to a night match.
